Letter from the Pastor

"Victory" 1 Corinthians 1:17-25

From a worldly perspective, Jesus death singled his defeat. Jesus has been taken out of our schools, our courts & most public buildings & in the paganist world, Jesus Christ is dead. Most people know that there was a man named Jesus but for unbelievers it stops at the cross. Many say he was just a Teacher, Prophet, good man, a religious leader. In the worlds view, dying in agony on a cross hardly seems like a path to victory. But it was because Jesus triumph over death & all who believe has victory. We have Victory because #1: We have the gift of Salvation. Today’s society thinks victory is what we have, how much we have, Bank account, job position, land, car. #2: We have victory over Sin: All who believe or trust in Jesus has his sins covered by his death. We still sin but when we do, Jesus says “I got that one, my blood has got that one. See, the only difference between a believer & an unbeliever is the fact that believers have been forgiven. #3: We have victory over Satan: A: Satan & his angels cannot do anything in which God doesn’t allow & B: if you read Revelations 19 & 20 you’ll see that Satan will be defeated. You & I have victory over Sin, death and Satan. Jesus didn’t mess around with death, he conquered it & because of it, victory is ours. 1 Cor. 15:55 “O’ death where is your sting, O’ Hades, where is your victory”. So we see that someone who has been born again has VICTORY because of the gift of Salvation, VICTORY over Sin & VICTORY over Satan & his demonic angels.
